Appointment of Ms Helen Patton MPA as Adjunct Professor of Industry Practice at UC

29 May 2025: The University of ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Helen Patton, MPA as Adjunct Professor of Industry Practice.

Ms Patton is a global business leader, technology policy advisor, and leading cybersecurity expert. She has worked closely with the University and the Faculty of Science and Technology through her role as Advisory Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Cisco, a worldwide technology leader, a strategic partner of the University and partner in the National Industry Innovation Network (NIIN).

Ms Patton's appointment will see her provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to several initiatives as part of the Cisco-UC partnership and the NIIN.

“We’re proud to be bringing Helen on as an Adjunct Professor to the Faculty,” Faculty of Science and Technology Executive Dean Janine Deakin said.

“She is highly regarded in the industry and brings with her not only a wealth of knowledge, but also local connections and opportunities for growth. Our students, staff and the broader community will benefit from her presence within the University.”

Commenting on her appointment, Director Education and Strategic Industries at Cisco, Mr Reg Johnson said “Cisco and the University of ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ have built a critically important and strategic partnership and it is testament to this close alliance that we extend the relationship further through the appointment of Helen as an Adjunct Professor at UC.

"The importance of implementing robust cybersecurity measures is growing and Helen is a globally renowned leader in the field, we’re lucky to have her and welcome her to this role and to the National Industry Innovation Network.”

Ms Patton will contribute to professional development programs, guide curriculum development aligning to industry needs, and support student research and innovation projects.
