Certificate in Building and Construction FAQs

The 2019 legislation changes affected the requirements for applying for a Class A builder's licence in the ACT. One of the key changes was the introduction of a higher educational requirement, mandating that applicants must hold a completed and recognised tertiary qualification in construction management or a related field. These changes were implemented to ensure that licensed builders possess the necessary expertise to manage complex construction projects, aligning with the ACT Building Regulatory Authority's goal of enhancing industry standards and safety.

Completing a Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Information Management from a recognised institution like the University of ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ can significantly support your application for a Class A builder's licence in the ACT. This qualification meets the educational requirements set by the ACT Building Regulatory Authority by providing comprehensive training in project management, construction contract administration processes, and risk management. By equipping you with essential knowledge and skills, this qualification fulfils the criteria and strengthens your application, positioning you to excel in the building and construction industry.

UC provides flexible study options to give students the ultimate work-life-study balance.

This course is designed for busy building and construction professionals wanting to upskill with a tertiary qualification. You have two study modes to choose from:

Online

Your future study schedule will vary depending on your chosen delivery mode. The Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Information Management is offered part-time, both online and on-campus.

A common question students ask is whether working full-time while studying is possible. The answer is yes for our online study mode.
