Excursions & Local Adventures
At Kirinari, learning isn’t just inside the classroom. It’s everywhere! Our children regularly explore their local community and the University of ÃØÃÜÖ±²¥ campus, discovering new places, practising independence, and having lots of fun along the way. From nature walks and Bush Kinder at a nearby natural setting, to visits to the library, cafés, and sports ovals on campus, every excursion is an opportunity for hands-on learning. Parents are always welcome to join us and share in the adventure!

Bringing Creativity to Us: Incursions
We love bringing the outside world in! Local and travelling artists visit Kirinari to inspire the children with music, art, and storytelling. Parents also play a special role, sharing cultural stories, cooking experiences, or creative projects that make learning personal and meaningful.

Zen Music: Where Every Child’s Musical Journey Begins
Once a week, our Zen Music sessions transform Kirinari into a joyful music-making space. Children explore rhythm, melody, and movement in a playful and supportive environment, celebrating every effort and nurturing their natural musical potential. It’s not about performance, it’s about curiosity, creativity, and the joy of making music together.

Wiradjuri Echoes: Celebrating Culture and Connection
Once a month, Duncan and Jakida, the Wiradjuri Echoes, bring Aboriginal culture to life through stories, art, song, and dance. These sessions give children a rich, hands-on experience, teaching respect, connection, and understanding for Indigenous culture.
In 2016, Duncan Smith was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his service to Indigenous youth and the community.
